Bioselenium 2.5% Suspension for Cutaneous Use 100 ml

It is a medicine in the form of a suspension for cutaneous use that is formulated with selenium sulphide, an active ingredient with antifungal action that is used for the symptomatic treatment of common dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the skin and scalp.

It is indicated for use in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age.

During pregnancy it can be used only under medical prescription and it is suitable for use during breastfeeding.

The recommended dosage is as follows: use twice a week for the first 15 days and then 1 to 4 times a month. As for the optimal dose, it would be the equivalent of one or two teaspoons of dessert, which is applied by means of a gentle massage leaving the medicine to act for two or three minutes before rinsing with plenty of water.

• Do not use Bioselenium if you are allergic to selenium sulphide or to any of the excipients.

• Do not use if the area of application is injured, inflamed or leaking fluid, on large areas of skin or for intimate feminine hygiene.

As with all medicines, Bioselenium Skin Suspension may cause side effects, but this does not mean that all people will experience side effects. Specifically, the following have been observed:

• If the medicinal product comes into contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes, it may be irritating and cause conjunctivitis.

• It may cause skin irritation and the hair should be thoroughly rinsed until the medicine is completely removed. May cause unusual greasiness of the hair and diffuse hair loss.

• Rarely, hair may become pigmented due to inadequate rinsing and transient nausea may occur due to the odour of the active substance. Sensitisation may also occur.

The active substance in Bioselenium Cutaneous Suspension is selenium sulphide. Specifically, each ml contains 25 mg selenium sulphide (2,5 %). The other excipients are: benzyl alcohol, lactic acid, cocamide DEA, povidone, methylcellulose, triethanolamine lauryl sulphate, magnesium aluminosilicate, perfume and purified water.

This medicinal product is presented as a skin suspension in a plastic bottle containing 100 ml.

It is for cutaneous use only. Therefore, do not swallow, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes, as it may be irritating. Wash hands after application.

The smell may be strange at first, as it is a strong odour.
