Valerian contributes to the onset and maintenance of normal sleep quality. Passionflower (passiflora incarnata), commonly known as passionflower, is a fast-growing climbing plant. Hawthorn (crataegus oxyacantha) is a thorny shrub with petiolate leaves. The flowers, white or pink, are very aromatic and are grouped together in branched corymbs. The flowering tops, the active part of the shrub, contain flavonoids, tannins, triterpenes, steroids, amines, mineral salts and an essential oil, which is responsible for the characteristic aroma of the plant.
