Inhalation Chamber with Neonatal Mask

The chamber :
It consists of a slightly conical cylinder, slightly narrower towards the nozzle end.
At one end it has a flexible adapter hole where the drug (MDI) is inserted. This flexibility makes it a universal chamber and it can be used with all aerosol drugs on the market, regardless of the manufacturer.
At the same end there is a small whistle used as an inspiratory flow meter.
The body of the chamber is made of shock-resistant, anti-static ABS plastic material.
At the other end is the inhalation mouthpiece. This incorporates a hygienic cap
Inside the mouthpiece is a one-way inhalation valve in the shape of a duck's beak.
The valve is extra thin and very flexible in order to open at low airflows.
An expiratory valve is incorporated on the outside of the body with a dual function. It allows the exhaled air to exit to the outside, and also serves as an indicator of the respiratory phase in which the patient is; inspiration or expiration, useful for synchronising the action of the MDI with the start of inspiration.
In order to prevent the introduction of any object that could cause a malfunction of the valve, the mouthpiece has a small division inside it.
Although cylindrical, the chamber has a small flat surface on the outside to prevent it from rotating on its axis when placed on a horizontal surface.
It can be disassembled into three parts for easy cleaning.
The body and nozzle are separated by rotating one over the other. The universal adaptor at the rear is removed by pressing it off.
To avoid errors when assembling the chamber, the mouthpiece has three asymmetrically distributed attachment points with the body.

The mask :
The mask must always be used together with an Optichamber Diamond inhalation chamber.
It is anatomically shaped to perfectly cover the nose and mouth.
Fits to the surface of the face without pressure, only with the vacuum generated by inspiration.
Consists of two interlocking parts: the body and the cushioned rim
The body is made of polycarbonate, a rigid plastic that gives the mask consistency.
The cushioned rim, made of high quality medical grade silicone, is very soft so as not to damage the skin on the patient's face.
The Lite Touch mask is latex free.
Small mask for children 0-18 months of age
Medium mask for children 18 to 6 years of age
Large mask for patients over 6 years of age.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

To administer an aerosol using a Lite Touch Diamond mask (adult, infant, neonate) proceed as follows:
- Remove the cap from the chamber mouthpiece.
- Connect the mask to the chamber mouthpiece.
- Insert the aerosol drug canister into the universal adaptor
- Shake the mask-chamber-drug assembly
- Place the mask over the patient's face so that the nose and mouth are covered.
- Allow the patient to breathe normally
- Start the drug when the flow indicator shows that inspiration is about to begin and keep the chamber in the same position until the patient has taken 5 or 6 breaths.
- Remove the chamber
- If a new dose is required, wait a few seconds and repeat the operation.
