Omega 3 is a polyunsaturated fatty acid, a substance that the body cannot synthesise and needs to be incorporated in the diet. It is present in fish (generally in oily fish) and in some vegetable seeds such as flax, chia or walnuts. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are particularly important.
