Clearblue Early can be used up to 6 days before your period is due, which means you can get accurate results earlier than with other home pregnancy tests. However, please note that accuracy increases the closer you get to when your period is due.
Clearblue Early is one of the most accurate pregnancy tests on the market, with a 99% accuracy rate when used from the day your period is due. However, you should be aware that no pregnancy test method is 100% foolproof and there is always the possibility of a false negative or false positive result.
Clearblue Early works by detecting the hormone hCG in your urine. To do the test, you simply collect a sample of your urine and dip the test stick in it for a few seconds. Then wait the time recommended in the instructions before reading the result. If you are pregnant, the test will show two lines, one of which will be darker than the other. If you are not pregnant, only one line will appear.
If you are sure or suspect you are pregnant, it is recommended that you use the first (fasting) urine of the day to get the most accurate result from the Clearblue Early Pregnancy Test.
Take the Clearblue Early Detection Pregnancy Test stick and remove the blue cap, then try to wet the absorbent tip with your urine, placing it downwards, preventing the rest of the test from getting wet, this tip should be in contact with your fluid for at least 5 seconds. Alternatively, collect your urine in a sterile container, and directly wet the absorbent tip for 20 seconds. The tip changes from white to pink on contact with urine, indicating that the result is in process.
2. Then with the moistened dipstick tip, insert the blue cap, and leave the test in a horizontal position on a cool, dry surface while the result is displayed.
3. Wait for 1 minute. Once the time has elapsed you will be able to see the final result, this test has two boxes, the small box is for control, your result will be the one indicated by the larger box, the sign (+) being affirmative and (-) negative.
Note: When wetting the absorbent tip, do not place the wet tip upwards as this may damage it.
Results
If a + sign appears in the Result Window after one minute, Clearblue Early is Positive and you are pregnant.
The Evaporation Line in a Pregnancy Test is a line that may appear in the Result Window after the reading time has elapsed. This line may be mistaken for a Positive result, but it is actually a colourless line that appears as the urine evaporates in the Test Window. Therefore, the evaporation line is not a reliable indicator of pregnancy and should not be considered as such.
It is important to follow the pregnancy test instructions and read the results within the recommended time to get an accurate reading.
It is recommended that you take the Clearblue Early test on the first day of a missed period. You should dip the test strip into the urine for a few seconds and then wait 1 minute to check the result.
