Insert your finger into the pulse oximeter making sure it is properly positioned and unobstructed.
Turn the device on by pressing the appropriate button.
Wait 8 to 10 seconds for the pulse oximeter to measure and display the blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate values.
Observe the results on the display and make sure they are within normal ranges.
Pay attention to alarms that indicate out-of-range values and take appropriate action as necessary.
