PRIM Urine leg bag 1/2 litre short size is a type of sanitary collection accessory where a small drainage bag is attached to the leg during the day in order to collect urine. The bag provides ease and comfort of movement and can be worn under clothing. It also incorporates a catheter, urinary catheter or tube that is placed into the bladder. These bags are used for people who suffer from incontinence and urinary retention (inability to urinate). They are also used for people who have had surgery that required a urinary catheter or for other health conditions. Urine bags are a closed, sterile system, free of agents that can cause fever (pyrogens).

The material in which PRIM urine bags are constructed is resistant to high volumes of urine, which reduces the occurrence of leaks or drips. The pouch connector is universal and can be adapted to various catheter diameters to provide a better fit and reduce the risk of disconnection. It is a latex-free item that allows for sterile sampling without contamination or risk of rupture of the evacuation tube. The bags incorporate a protective layer of fabric on the inside so that the skin of the leg is not damaged or irritated. It incorporates a non-return and emptying valve and has a capacity of 500 ml.

The use of this leg bag is indicated for people who suffer from incontinence, difficulty or impediment to urinate. It is also suitable for people who have had a catheter inserted after surgery.

The pouch must be attached to the thigh with the Velcro straps and it must always be lower than the bladder in order to prevent urine from flowing backwards. To empty the pouch it is necessary to do it in a clean bathroom and avoid touching any of its surfaces. This emptying should be done with perfectly clean hands, 2 or 3 times a day or when it is too full. The leg bag should be changed 1 or 2 times a month or sooner if it looks dirty or has an unpleasant odour and should be washed every morning.
