Set the suction power regulator to the lowest power setting via the ring in the "-" direction and adjust it to your liking during pumping. Then place the pumping funnel on the breast so that the nipple is positioned in the centre of the funnel. Carefully press the pumping funnel to ensure that it is watertight during expression. If possible, keep the pump in an upright position during this operation.
With a two-phase pumping rhythm that mimics the baby's natural sucking rhythm, the first phase of the pumping rhythm is fast and stimulating to trigger the milk ejection reflex. To switch to the second phase, the ring is turned in the "+" direction so that the breast pump sucks at a slower and more intense rhythm, thus achieving maximum milk flow. Combining both processes allows you to express milk efficiently.
Before feeding your baby, the milk needs to be slightly agitated so that it is well mixed with the milk fat again. Milk that has been thawed, warmed or not fed to the baby should not be refrozen but discarded. If breastmilk is expressed several times in 24 hours, the freshly expressed breastmilk can be added to breastmilk that is already refrigerated. However, the freshly expressed milk must be cooled before it can be added to the refrigerated breast milk. The temperature must be the same (cold on cold).
