Antiparasitic collar with Deltamethrin, for the elimination of fleas, ticks and sandflies and prevention of Leishmaniasis and other diseases transmitted by these parasites.

Indications for use

The medicated veterinary product offers:
Continuous flea (Ctenocephalides felis) control activity for 16 weeks.
Continuous tick (Ixodes ricinus) control activity for 6 months.
Activity that prevents feeding and favours the control of sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for 5.5 months.

Contraindications

Do not use in puppies less than 7 weeks old, in dogs with skin lesions, in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any excipient.
Do not use in cats. Deltamethrin is harmful to cats.

Adverse reactions

In isolated cases local skin reactions (itching, redness, hair loss) have been observed on the neck or on the skin in general.
In very rare cases, altered behaviour (e.g. lethargy or hyperactivity) often associated with skin irritation has also been reported.
Gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea and sialorrhoea have been observed in very rare cases.
In very rare cases, neuromuscular problems such as uncoordinated movements and muscle tremors have been observed.
Symptoms usually disappear within 48 hours after removal of the collar.
If any of these symptoms occur, the collar should be removed and a veterinarian should be contacted.

Target Species

Dogs Species-specific dosage, method(s) and route(s) of administration:
For external and dermal use only. The collar should be adjusted around the dog's neck.

Instructions for correct administration

Remove the collar from the protective pouch just before use.
Fit the collar around the animal's neck: not too loose and not too tight.
Two fingers should fit between the collar and the dog's neck.
Cut off the excess of more than 5 cm.
Check periodically and adjust easily by pressing the top of the buckle and sliding the collar into the correct position.

Waiting time: Not applicable.

Special storage precautions:
Keep out of sight and reach of children. This veterinary medicinal product does not require special storage conditions.
Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after EXP.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Shelf life after opening the primary sachet: immediate use. Keep the sachets in the outer carton.

Special warnings for each target species

The collar reaches its maximum effect after one week, therefore it should be applied 1 week before the animals can be exposed to infestation.
Ticks and sandflies die and fall off the dog within 48 hours and 24 hours respectively after exposure, usually without having sucked blood.

Packaging: Cardboard box with 1 or 2 collars. Not all formats may be marketed.
