What is it and what is it for?

The long sock for plantar fasciitis produced by Medilast provides support with a "taping" effect to improve joint posture and promote muscle relaxation. It also stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation to produce an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect on the sole of the foot, thus mitigating the pain caused by fasciitis.

Similarly, the bi-elastic fabric of the heel acts on the tendons found in this area, which is why it helps to protect the foot from sprains. In addition, the heel is reinforced to protect the calcaneal bone and helps relieve pain in this area and in the plantar fascia.

The rest of the sock is made with compression fabric that promotes venous return and helps to delay leg fatigue. This is ideal for those who spend all day standing or sitting, but also to alleviate the discomfort caused by venous insufficiency and varicose veins.

This sock offers a compression of 15 to 21 mmHg, which is recommended for sportsmen and women because it improves their performance and prevents circulatory, joint and muscular disorders.

Who is it suitable for?

Farmaciasdirect recommends the use of these socks for plantar fasciitis to those who suffer from this ailment or wish to prevent its onset.

Athletes who want to protect their feet from talalgias or soothe this pain in a natural way are also favoured by the use of this garment.

It is also useful for preventing varicose veins and spider veins and for improving leg rest.

Instructions for use

It is recommended to run a stream of cold water from the ankles to the hips, just before putting on the stockings. It is also preferable to do this in the morning, when the legs have not yet swollen.

To put on the sock, turn it around until you reach the heel, which serves as a guide to facilitate the posture, which is why it should be facing downwards.

Pull the sock up to the instep and this will make it easier to put on the heel and allow you to bring the lower part up to the ankle.

You can now pull the sock slowly up to the knee, making sure that there are no wrinkles.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to wear compression stockings while lying down.

Do not wear over varicose ulcers.
