The external dewormer for cats works to both prevent and treat parasite infestations. It works by preventing flea eggs from developing for 12 weeks from application and protecting against adult fleas for 5 weeks. For ticks, Effipro kills ticks within 48 hours and protects for 1 week against Ixodes ricinus and for 4 weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Riphicephalus sanguineus.
