EDDA PHARMA Alcohol 96º Reinforced is an antiseptic product with a high concentration of ethanol that helps to maintain asepsis on healthy skin and inert surfaces or objects. It is marketed in a 250 ml presentation.
EDDA PHARMA Alcohol 96º Reinforced is a universal antiseptic with great power to eradicate viral and bacterial activity. It is made from vegetable-based ethanol and reinforced with benzalkonium chloride. Benzalkonium chloride provides a powerful inhibitory action against pathogenic microorganisms. This disinfectant product is ideal for use as a method of disinfecting healthy skin prior to injections. It is also very useful for cleaning surgical instruments prior to surgery to prevent the risk of cross-infection. In this sense, it can be sprayed on inert surfaces and thus support the disinfection of spaces.
Pure alcohol has also been used in cosmetics and acts as an astringent in magistral formulas and as an excipient in medicines. On the other hand, ethanol vapours, when inhaled, can help clear the nasal passages and respiratory tract or aid recovery from low blood pressure and nausea. Pure alcohol has even been used in laboratories as a dehydrating agent. On the other hand, because 96 proof alcohol has a higher concentration of ethanol compared to 70 proof alcohol, the former will have a lower antiseptic capacity due to its rapid evaporation.
EDDA PHARMA Alcohol 96º Reinforced is indicated to contribute to the asepsis of surgical instruments, inert surfaces and also as a method of disinfecting hands and the dermis before injections.
In case of being used as a preventive method of skin infections before any vaccination or injection, it is advisable to soak a cotton wool with alcohol and place it on the skin for a period of 2 - 3 minutes before the injection. It can also be used diluted with a little water or spread directly for asepsis of inanimate objects or surfaces. This product is for topical and external use only.
Avoid direct contact with eyes, mouth or mucous membranes. Do not ingest. Do not use on irritated skin or apply to open wounds. Do not use alcohol in combination with other substances. In case of accidental ingestion or poisoning, a specialist in the area should be consulted immediately.
