Dr Browns new Prevent Orthodontic Soother has been developed by paediatric dentist, Dr Davis to help minimise the pressure inside a baby's mouth that can create dental problems such as crossbite. Dr Davis determined that the pressure on the roof of the mouth could be reduced by creating a channel that allows air to pass through, to eliminate the sucking effect when the baby is sucking.
This patented active canal consists of a channel that opens when the baby sucks, reducing pressure on the palate by allowing air to pass through, thus increasing comfort.
Like the Dr. Brown's Orthodontic Soother, the base of the teat is much thinner than conventional soothers, causing the baby's mouth to open less and reducing pressure on the jaw by minimising pressure on the baby's tongue and teeth, which can also cause overbite.
