Lactoben is a supplement created for those with mild or moderate lactose intolerance. It helps to avoid some stomach ailments caused by this condition, such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, among others. It contains lactase to facilitate lactose digestion.

This happens because the body does not have the capacity to transform lactose into sugars that can be absorbed by the intestine and this is due to the lack of an enzyme called lactase, which is responsible for this process.
The body begins to progressively decrease the production of lactase after a period of breastfeeding, producing in a few minutes discomfort such as abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhoea, among others.
However, the situation is not as simple as excluding lactose from the daily diet, as this substance helps the growth and strengthening of bones and a greater absorption of calcium.
The consumption of a single capsule of this product helps the proper digestion of 200 grams of cow's milk, 800 g of fresh cheese, 2 yoghurts or 200 g of rice pudding.
Lactose can be found in many foods such as ice cream, purées, cold cuts, butter, yoghurts, drinks, instant soups, margarine, batter, whey, among others. It is even found in some medicines and products such as toothpaste.
For those who suffer from lactose intolerance and wish to return to the consumption of dairy products. Lactose intolerant people are those who experience diarrhoea, abdominal rumbling, flatulence, abdominal pain, etc. within a few minutes of consuming a dairy product.
To start with the intake of this product is recommended to consume a single tablet and increase the dose if it is very necessary.
Take each tablet with the first bite of food containing lactose. If 30 to 45 minutes pass and you are still eating food with dairy ingredients, then another dose should be taken. Do not take more than 12 tablets a day.
Lactoben should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and healthy diet, you should not take more than the recommended dose. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
