NYDA is an innovative pediculicide treatment that kills lice and nits in a single application. It does not contain insecticides, so it does not irritate the scalp or cause toxicity to the body and can be used safely by adults and children over 24 months of age. It comes in an easy-to-apply spray format and has a pleasant scent.
It is a unique mixture of two types of dimethicone at 92%, which effectively penetrates the respiratory system of the louse and nit, killing them by asphyxiation. Due to its physical mode of action it does not produce resistance.
1. The product is applied to dry hair. Spray well the roots of the hair with NYDA®.
2. Apply NYDA® by massaging and leave it on for 30 minutes. The package insert gives detailed instructions on how to do this.
3. After 30 minutes you can carefully comb the hair and remove dead lice and larvae.
4. After 30 minutes, you can wash your hair and rinse NYDA® with your usual shampoo.
