What is it and what is it for?

BD Plastipak Microfine insulin syringe is a three-part model: body, plunger and sealing ring. It uses a centesimal scale and comes with a 0,5  8/30 needle. The needle is coated with a thin layer of silicone so that it can pass through the skin easily and with less pain. It is short and thin. It comes with a cap that covers and protects it before use.

The drum is the long, thin chamber that contains the insulin or extraction fluid. This drum is marked with lines to measure the number of units of fluid. The plunger is the long, thin rod that fits snugly into the barrel of the insulin syringe. It slides easily up and down. Either to load insulin into the drum or to push insulin out of the drum through the needle.

It is a syringe model with a rubber seal at the lower end of the plunger to prevent leakage during use. This ensures that the correct amount of liquid is dispensed. It is a high quality product with very accurate measurement. The amount of insulin actually dosed always matches the value indicated on the drum.

Who is it suitable for?

It is a syringe indicated for administering medication in small doses or for extractions.

Instructions for use

The insulin has to enter the fat layer under the skin. To achieve this, it is necessary to grasp the skin and place the needle at an angle below 45°. If the skin tissue is thick, it should be injected straight up and down at an angle of 90°. The needle should be inserted completely into the skin.

Then release the skin that was clinging to it. Then inject the insulin slowly and steadily until it is completely inserted. Leave the syringe in place for 5 seconds after the injection. Withdraw the needle in the same way it was inserted and discard appropriately.

Contraindications

This syringe is not suitable for aldehydes. Do not use more than once.
