The Acofar reusable hot/cold pack is mouldable and adaptable to any joint or area of the body. It contains a non-toxic therapeutic gel that can be heated in the microwave or cooled in the fridge depending on the needs of the moment. When heated, it relaxes and is able to improve blood circulation. When cooled, it has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
This reusable bag is often used to treat headaches, sports injuries, muscle pain, menstrual pain, tooth extraction, sinusitis and minor burns, as well as other ailments. It is suitable for use in the freezer or microwave.
Heat and cold therapies are recommended by experts as part of the recovery treatment for some ailments.

It is recommended to bring the bag to the optimum temperature required and then place it on the affected area horizontally, making sure that the gel is perfectly distributed. It is advisable to place on the affected area for at least 20 minutes and then leave the area to rest for an hour before reapplying. If used postoperatively, the instructions of the treating physician should be followed.
The heat effect can be obtained in two ways: first, with the water bath, wrapping the bag in a towel and immersing it in water at 80 degrees Celsius for 6 minutes; second, with the microwave, where the bag should be introduced horizontally with the gel distributed (if the bag was at room temperature, 35 seconds, if it was frozen, 55 seconds and 30 seconds extra if necessary). If more heat is needed, 10 more seconds can be added until the desired temperature is reached.
To obtain the cold effect, just put it in the freezer, take it out for 5 minutes to defrost it and, if you want to refreeze it, put it back in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Wrap the bag in a towel when placing it on the skin to avoid burns or frostbite. If it causes irritation, experts should be consulted. The gel should not come into contact with the eyes. Use on children is only indicated under strict adult supervision.
