What is it and what is it for?

ACCU-CHEK Aviva blood glucose test strips help to measure blood glucose.

The blood glucose test strips are ideal for the Accu-Chek Aviva, Accu-Chek Aviva Nano and Accu-Chek Aviva Combo meters. They are used to collect a drop of blood for quantitative testing of the sample. The blood can be taken with the meter and test strip from a finger, palm, arm, thigh or forearm.

The test strips are intended for hospital and home use and are stable until the expiry date printed on the package.

Who are they for?

The blood glucose test strips are indicated for in vitro diagnosis of glucose, for use by healthcare personnel in hospitals or for home use by people with diabetes mellitus.

Instructions for use

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling the meter, lancing device and test strips. Pick up the lancing device and clean the puncture site.

Place the ACCU-CHEK Aviva blood glucose test strips in the channel of the lancing device, checking the direction of the arrow.

Puncture the finger and squeeze to obtain the plasma sample. When it comes out, dispense the blood onto the strip. If the drop of blood is too small, the device may give an erroneous reading. Apply pressure on the finger and obtain a drop of blood sufficient for the sample.

When the test strip has absorbed the blood, the device will reflect the measurement result on the display. The reading time does not exceed 5 seconds. Discard test strips and lancing lancets carefully after use.

Contraindications

Keep Accu-Check Aviva blood glucose test strips in a cool, dry place. Do not place the blood sample on the test strip before inserting it into the meter. Do not reuse the test strips.

If you notice any damage to the test strips, avoid using them. Damaged test strips may give incorrect results. Store the test strips at temperatures between 4°C and 30°C.

It is not recommended to freeze the test strips. Keep strips out of the reach of children under 3 years of age. Do not use this system as a diagnostic test for diabetes mellitus or for testing neonatal cord blood samples.
