Wash your hands before using the thermometer.
Turn the thermometer on by pressing the power button. The display should show "0.0" or "Lo".
If you are measuring the temperature in the mouth, place the tip of the thermometer under the tongue on one side of the mouth. If you are measuring the temperature in the rectum, apply a small amount of lubricant to the tip of the thermometer and gently insert the tip into the rectum. If you are taking an ear temperature, place the tip of the thermometer gently into the ear canal.
Wait for the thermometer to emit an audible signal indicating that the measurement has been completed. The duration of the measurement varies depending on the type of thermometer, but is usually a few seconds.
Read the temperature on the thermometer display.
Turn the thermometer off by pressing the power button again.
Wipe the tip of the thermometer with a damp cloth or towel and disinfect.
Do not use the same thermometer to measure temperature in the mouth, rectum and ear without proper disinfection between each use.
If the thermometer is broken, do not use it and replace it immediately.
If the thermometer has not been used for a long time, it is important to check the battery and make sure the thermometer is working properly before use.
