Collagen is made up of a wide variety of subtypes (from I to XIII), but it is the non-denatured or non-hydrolysed type II collagen that is present in joint cartilage. Its main functions are resistance to intermittent pressure and joint care.
Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of skin, bones, blood vessels and cartilage.
Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to the absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.
