Prim Otovent self-ventilation device is very effective for the treatment of otitis media, as it supports the functioning of the Eustachian tube so that the ear pressure is normalised. It is suitable for children and adults.
Prim Otovent self-venting device is very easy to use. It can be used by children from the age of three, adolescents and adults. It helps to insufflate air until the pressure in the eardrum is normalised. It helps to soothe the discomfort of otitis quickly and safely.
This equipment favours the elimination of middle ear secretion, without producing side effects or causing discomfort. With this therapeutic product it is not necessary to use medication or perform surgery, although its use must be endorsed by a specialist.
The usefulness of the device has been supported by clinical trials, in which it was shown that approximately 50 % of the people treated stopped developing exudate and improved their hearing ability. This reduces the risk of tympanostomy tube implantation.
The product comes in a storage box, contains one nosepiece and five balloons. As a cleaning measure, it is recommended to wash the part of the device that is inserted into the nose after each use, using a mild soap and then rinse with plenty of clean water.
This product is indicated to relieve the symptoms of otitis media with effusion (OME) or serous otitis media (OMS). It is also recommended for other cases of ear obstruction.
Remove the device from the case and place a balloon on the flat part of the mouthpiece. Then hold the round end of the nosepiece firmly against the left nostril while compressing the right nostril.
Inhale deeply through the mouth and then inflate the balloon by blowing into the left nostril until it reaches the size of an orange. Make swallowing movements keeping the inflated balloon close to the nose, then repeat the process through the right nostril.
It is advisable to repeat this procedure three times a day, with one auto-inflation per nostril. The treatment should be continued for two to three weeks. The balloon can be reused up to twenty times.
This product is not suitable for children under the age of three months. Do not use when there is an ear infection. During use, nosebleeds may occur, which are generally harmless, and in case of persistent discomfort or if any adverse reaction is observed, discontinue use and consult an ear, nose and throat specialist.
