What is it and what is it for?

Nutribén 5-grain porridge is an infant food in powder form that is mixed with water, breast milk or infant formula to form a smooth, easy-to-digest porridge. This porridge is made up of a blend of five cereals: wheat, rice, oats, rye and corn, making it a source of complex carbohydrates and fibre. It also contains vitamins and minerals important for the growth and development of babies, such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, zinc and B vitamins.

Who is it suitable for?

Nutribén 5-grain porridge is suitable for babies from 6 months of age as part of complementary feeding. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends that this stage should start from 6 months of age.

Instructions for use

  1. Wash hands thoroughly before handling utensils and food.
  2. Heat 200 ml of breast milk or infant formula in a container.
  3. Add 20 g (approximately 4 tablespoons) of Nutribén 5-cereal porridge to the bowl of warm milk.
  4. Mix the porridge well with the milk until smooth and homogenous.
  5. Allow the porridge to cool to the right temperature for your baby (approximately 37°C).
  6. Serve the porridge to your baby with a clean, soft-tipped spoon.

Contraindications

  • Allergy or intolerance to any of the ingredients in the 5-grain porridge, such as wheat, oats, rye, corn or the breast milk or infant formula used to prepare it.
  • Gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhoea or constipation, as the porridge may worsen these symptoms in some babies.
  • Metabolic or renal diseases that require a specific diet, in which case the recommendations of the health care professional in charge of the treatment should be followed.

Composition
