What is it and what is it for?

Medilast Stocking Short is a product specially designed to facilitate blood flow in the legs with the aim of helping to mitigate the progression of conditions in the vascular system and to provide the user with a feeling of comfort and rest.

The strong compression exerted by this orthosis pursues three objectives. The first has to do with promoting blood return so that the tissues are better nourished and have more oxygen. The second is to provide the person with a feeling of comfort and to help minimise oedema (excess fluid in the tissues). The third objective is to prevent the formation of blood clots and atheromas that can aggravate the alteration of blood pressure. At the same time, these stockings have a fabric that facilitates perspiration, so that the skin can oxygenate normally and there is no discomfort due to excess humidity.

Who is it suitable for?

This orthosis is indicated for people of small size who have varicose veins or other advanced conditions in the circulatory system.

Instructions for use

To keep this garment in good condition and to use it correctly, the following instructions should be taken into account:

  • It should be washed by hand and with neutral or mild soaps. It should not be left to dry in the sun or with the help of heat sources, as this may damage it.
  • When using it, special care should be taken not to pull hard on the edges so as not to tear it.
  • If they are torn for any reason, weaving does not restore their properties.
  • Some people with sensitive skin may feel itchy after a few hours. This is normal as long as this symptom is not accompanied by irritation or itching. To prevent swelling, socks should be readjusted several times a day. If necessary, they can be taken off for a few minutes to allow the skin to rest and then put back on again.
  • It is not advisable to sleep with them on, unless your doctor has prescribed it.
  • They should be replaced with new ones after 6 months. After this time, with use and washing, their fibres wear out and do not produce the same benefits.

Contraindications

It is not advisable to use these stockings if you are allergic to any of their components.
