Eye drops with vitamin b12 for the complementary treatment of corneal healing problems.

Isopto B12 is a medicine in the form of eye drops in solution, the active ingredient of which is cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12). It is therefore indicated as a complementary treatment for corneal scarring problems.
It can be used in both adults and children. In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor, although a priori there should be no problems with its use.
The recommended dose is 1 drop in the affected eye 3 to 4 times a day. If it worsens or if it does not improve after 3 days of treatment, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
Do not use Isopto B12:
If you are allergic to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
Isopto B12 may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In this case, transient eye irritation and allergic reactions have been observed,
Isopto B12 containsthe active substance cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12). Each ml contains 0.5 mg cyanocobalamin. Other excipients: thiomersal, sodium chloride, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate and purified water q.s.
This medicinal product is supplied in a polyethylene bottle with a dropper containing 5 ml of translucent red solution. Each patient should use his or her own bottle, while the application of the eye drops should be carried out with the utmost hygiene: clean hands, avoiding any contact of the dropper with any surface (including the eye).
After each application, keep the bottle tightly closed and discard within one month of opening.
It is a product frequently used by welders, who suffer corneal damage if they are not well protected.
