What is it and what is it for?

Holle Bio Spelt porridge is a food product, developed to serve as a dietary supplement for babies over 4 months old. It is easy to digest, rich in dietary fibre and contains no added sugars or dairy products. Its taste is mild and its texture is creamy if prepared correctly.

Milk, breast milk and even water or fruit purees can be used. Its formula is enriched with vitamin B1 and provides a large amount of macronutrients.

Who is it suitable for?

It promotes a diversified and healthy diet for babies over 4 months of age.

Instructions for use

There are 3 variants to prepare the spelt porridge in a suitable and recommended way. Below are the specifications for each one:

  • Porridge with milk and water for after 4 months of age: For this preparation, 100 ml of whole milk, 100 ml of water and 25 g or 5 tablespoons of the spelt flour are needed. First heat the milk and water together to a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius, remove from the heat source and add the spelt. Mix very well and leave it to stand until it reaches a temperature suitable for consumption.
  • Preparation without milk after 4 months of age: Within this method, there are also two variants. The first is to use 70 ml of boiled water with 4 tablespoons or 20 g of the product, together with 100 g of fruit compote or crushed fresh fruit. The second is to mix the same amount of spelt with 200 g of warm fruit or vegetable puree.
  • Preparation with Holle follow-on milk, for babies over 6 months of age: In this method, 150 ml of water is used, brought to the boil, removed from the heat and allowed to cool to below 50 degrees Celsius. Then add 5 measures of Holle follow-on milk and 18 g or 3 to 4 tablespoons of spelt flour.

Contraindications

Do not give to babies who are intolerant, allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Not suitable for coeliacs as it contains gluten. Not a substitute for a balanced diet and an active and healthy lifestyle.
