Oral solution for adjunctive treatment of the common cold and upper respiratory tract irritation.
Pack of 50 ml.
It is a medicine formulated with Echinacea purpurea, a natural plant commonly used to strengthen the immune system and help fight the common cold.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
The initial dose is one dose of 2.5 ml followed by 1.5 ml doses at 1 or 2 hour intervals, up to a maximum of 15 ml (on the first day only).
On the remaining days, a dose of 2.5 ml should be administered every 8 hours.
The duration of treatment is between 7 and 15 days.
Do not use Echinacin Madaus:
In children under 12 years of age.
In case of allergy to Echinacea purpurea, or to any of the excipients present in this medicine.
In patients with tuberculosis, leukaemia or progressive systemic diseases such as collagenosis and multiple sclerosis.
If you have acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections and other diseases of the immune system.
During pregnancy and lactation, without prior medical consultation.
Like all medicines, Echinacin Madaus may cause side effects , although not everybody will experience them. In this case, hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash and/or itching), swelling of the face (facial oedema), difficulty breathing, hypotension, vomiting, abdominal pain and nausea may occur.
Each ml of Echinacin Madaus contains 800 mg of fresh juice of the flowering parts of Echinacea purpurea. The other excipients are: 21% ethanol and purified water.
This is a natural herbal medicine with Echinacea purpurea, an active ingredient that is very useful both for relieving cold symptoms and for stimulating the body's defences. It is therefore a good alternative to other drug treatments.
A healthy lifestyle is recommended, including a fibre-rich diet, plenty of fluids, regular exercise and adequate rest.
