Firstly, the formula contains Kaolinite, which is a soft clay that helps absorb excess sebum, as well as preventing its migration to and on the hair shaft. Secondly, there is Sabal Serrulata, a plant used for its active ingredients that act to control excess sebum in localised areas where hair is weaker.
