Milk thistle is a plant native to Mediterranean and south-eastern Europe, northern Africa and western Asia, where it grows in open ground and along roadsides. It reaches up to one metre in height during flowering. The flower heads are purple and have long thorns. Milk thistle seeds contain a group of three compounds, Silibinin, Silidianin and Silicristin, which are collectively known as Silymarin. Also present are Vitamin C, Beta-carotene and Minerals (Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and Selenium). We have selected a glycerinated Milk Thistle extract with a 1:3 ratio. This means that for every gram of extract, 3 grams of plant have been used. In addition, our Glycerinated Milk Thistle Extract is titrated in Silybin 8 mg/ml, providing 24 mg per day.
