Ado Eq Mina Chlorhexidine-based antiseptic for topical application for disinfection, wound healing, minor burns and grazes in skin solution for dogs, cats and horses.
Chlorhexidine is a compound of biguanide structure with antiseptic activity. Its action is bactericidal and bacteriostatic. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum, being active against Gram (+) and Gram (-) germs, such as Serratia marcescens, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Some Gram (-) are relatively resistant. It does not possess sporicidal action. Indications: Antiseptic for ulcers and wounds in general, conditions of the extremities, antiseptic in minor grazes and burns, antiseptic of the operating field and of the veterinarian's hands, disinfection of puncture sites, cleaning and disinfection of the auricle. Side effects: Occasionally may cause photosensitisation reactions. Repetitive, long-term use may in some cases cause dermatitis. Route of administration: Topical. Dosage: Due to the good tolerance of the preparation, it can be applied topically as often as necessary. Although the applicator is the ideal method of application, it can also be applied by dabbing with a cotton swab soaked in Adoeqmina.
