What is it and what is it for?

The Acofar digital ear thermometer is used to measure body temperature in people of all ages, from babies to adults. The ear temperature measurement is fast and accurate, making it ideal for use in situations where a quick and accurate reading is needed, such as in medical emergencies or for monitoring fever at home. The Acofar ear thermometer uses infrared technology to measure eardrum temperature, which is an accurate indication of core body temperature.

Who is it suitable for?

The Acofar digital ear thermometer is suitable for anyone who needs to measure their body temperature quickly and accurately. It is especially useful for those who need to monitor their temperature frequently, such as people with chronic illnesses, hospitalised patients and babies and young children.

How to use

  1. First, turn the thermometer on by pressing the on/off button.

  2. Then remove the protective cover from the end of the thermometer.

  3. Tilt the head to one side and pull the earlobe back to straighten the ear canal. If you are measuring the temperature of an infant or young child, it may be helpful to have them lying on their side to make it easier to access the ear canal.

  4. Gently insert the tip of the thermometer into the ear canal, making sure it is in contact with the skin and not the earwax.

  5. Press the measurement button and wait for the thermometer to beep or signal that the measurement is complete.

  6. Remove the thermometer from the ear and read the temperature displayed on the screen. The Acofar digital ear thermometer displays the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on the setting you have selected.

  7. Finally, wipe the tip of the thermometer with a soft cloth and replace the protective cover.

Contraindications

If a person has a middle ear infection or a perforated eardrum, it is not recommended to use an ear thermometer, as it may cause pain or worsen the infection.

Some experts advise against the use of ear thermometers in newborns, as the ear canal may be very small and the reading may be less accurate.
