3M Opticlude Large Patterned Eye Patch is an eye patch that adheres to the eye as a corrective therapy for strabismus and lazy eye. It is made of porous paper and rayon fibres for maximum comfort and removes without residue.
3M Opticlude Large Drawings Eye Patch is designed as a treatment for the eye with strabismus, in this case to improve eye movement. For this purpose, the eye that functions perfectly is disabled, with the aim of forcing the other eye to exercise towards the area where it never moves.
It is also used for the therapy of the amblyopic eye, better known as lazy eye. In this case, the eye that offers better vision must be covered in order to exercise the other eye and, in this way, force it to improve its functioning.
Due to the importance of this type of therapy for children and the inconvenience of using patches, 3M has developed these adhesive pieces. Visually, they stand out for their colourful design and come in different colours that can even be combined with clothing.
As for their composition, they consist of a microporous paper adhesive that allows gas exchange with the skin, which is why they do not accumulate moisture. The adhesive part is made of hypoallergenic, latex-free acrylic material. It is also sterile to keep microorganisms away. When removing, simply peel off the patch gently, but it comes off easily and leaves no residue.
The central cushion is drop-shaped and does not adhere to the eye, as it is designed to completely block vision, block light and keep the eye comfortably covered.
