Ashwagandha is a plant belonging to the Solanaceae family (the same family as tomato and goji). In Sensoril®Adapt we find a standardised extract of the root and leaf of the Ashwagandha plant (Withania somnifera), in an aqueous base and clinically tested.
It is considered an adaptogenic plant (i.e. it helps to balance the body). Ayurvedic medicine calls this plant the Indian ginseng and has used it for centuries as a tonic for physical and mental well-being. It has both energising and calming properties, so it is used for both stress and lack of energy. It helps to maintain mental and emotional balance and contributes to general well-being. It helps to maintain mental function in older people and is a support when energy levels, mental clarity and concentration need to be increased. It is also interesting for its role in supporting reproductive health and sexual function in males.
