Vemedia is a fast-growing consumer health company, marketing self-medication brands. Philips Duphar and Gist Brocades created Vemedia in 1961 initially as a veterinary medicine business and soon after personal care drugs and pesticides were added to the portfolio.

In 2013, under new ownership, Vemedia entered the French market and during that year sold its chemical compounding business, enabling Vemedia to become a virtually exclusive OTC company with a broad product portfolio.
