Xailin Intense is indicated in cases of low tear production (dry eye syndrome), accompanied by symptoms such as dry eyes, itching or eye fatigue.

These symptoms may be caused by working in front of a monitor, watching TV for a prolonged period of time or exposure to dry air from heating or air conditioning, or tobacco smoke. Reduced tear secretion can also occur after surgery or injury to the eye, as constant hydration is necessary for the regeneration process of the eye's surface structures to take place properly. Xailin Intense contains a high concentration of sodium hyaluronate, which keeps the cornea and conjunctiva of the eye hydrated for a long time.

Sodium hyaluronate is a viscoelastic liquid with hygroscopic properties and has many important functions in the human body. It is a natural lubricant, consisting of a biocompatible polysaccharide with excellent water retention properties. Hyaluronic acid in the eye is found in the vitreous humour, lacrimal gland, conjunctiva, cornea and tear fluid.

For many years, sodium hyaluronate solutions have been widely and successfully used in ophthalmic applications around the world. Sodium hyaluronate has the ability to form a stable moisturising film on the surface of the eye. Therefore, a single application provides increased comfort for hours for those suffering from the effects of dry eye syndrome as well as for contact lens wearers.
