These lenses from CooperVision's Proclear family are the only lenses manufactured with a unique process called PC Technology.
This technology creates a material in the lens that contains phosphorylcholine (PC) molecules, which bind with the water molecules in natural tears to form a "shield" of water around the lens, keeping the lenses clean and hydrated throughout the day.
By allowing the lens to form hydrogen bonds with water, this technology allows the water molecules to become an integral part of the lens, creating a natural resistance to dryness.
In fact, Proclear 1 day contact lenses are the only contact lenses cleared by the US FDA for the indication.
The aspheric optical design of Proclear 1 Day lenses corrects lens aberrations and theoretical corneal aberration to provide clear, sharp vision.
Proclear 1 Day lenses also maintain oxygen flow to keep the patient's eyes white and clear.
They also maintain 96% hydration throughout the day, even after 12 hours of wear.
Their silicone hydrogel material increases oxygen permeability for greater comfort and better eye health.
Silicone has a higher oxygen permeability than water, allowing more oxygen to pass through the lens to the eye, so oxygen permeability is no longer associated with the amount of water in the lens.
The higher amount of water and the material makes the lenses more comfortable to wear.
