The Philips Avent baby monitor is a device designed for parents to keep an eye on their young children when they are not in the same room. It has two units, one stays within reach of the adult and the other is placed in the area where the child is.
It is manufactured using innovative DECT technology. This minimises the risk of interference with the baby's hearing. It also helps to maintain a safe and private contact so that only parents or caregivers can hear the child.
In addition, this technological system provides clear sound through which the baby's laughter, cries or screams can be clearly heard. It has an intelligent ecology that contributes to energy saving and battery life.
For added safety, it has a sound level indicator. This has lights that are activated when a sound is emitted in the baby's room. It works even if the parent unit is muted.
It has a high level of range. It transmits the signal up to 50m indoors, while in outdoor areas it can reach up to 300m. If outside these limits, the device will alert you, as well as when the battery is running out of power.
The adult monitor can be plugged into an electrical power source or used with batteries, thus facilitating mobility. It uses two AA 1.5V R6 alkaline batteries, non-rechargeable. Rechargeable ones (AA 1.2V R6) are also possible.
When batteries are inserted, it can operate uninterruptedly for up to 24 hours, after which time it must be recharged or replaced. Thanks to its soothing light, the child calms down during the night and sleeps peacefully.
