NUK First Choice Baby Bottle Crystal 0-6 M Latex 120 ml

Bottles should be fitted with a volume scale in millilitres. The precision of the measurements indicated on a bottle is extremely important: if the proportion of water and milk powder is not maintained, it can cause too high a load on the infant's kidneys, or too much water may be given in relation to the milk actually contained in a bottle.

Instructions for use

Before preparing the bottle, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and dry them with a clean towel.

Any microorganisms must be eliminated by boiling or using the usual sterilisers.

Sterilisation of the bottle

a) Cold sterilisation: Chemical process that uses the oxidising action of hypochlorous acid, in the form of a solution or tablets. It allows the sterilisation of articles by simply placing them (bottles, teats, nipples, dummies, teethers or toys) in a bucket with water and a chemical solution (in the form of a solution or tablets). The sterilisation time varies, ranging from half an hour to one hour. The solution should be renewed every 24 hours to avoid possible infection.

b) Heat sterilisation: Boiling water destroys pathogenic micro-organisms.
Sterilisation takes place through steam and lasts 10 to 20 minutes. The bottle is previously filled with water up to two thirds of its volume, placing it upside down so that the hot steam can pass through more easily.

Precautions

Risks of bottle feeding:

1. Aerophagia: During feeding, the bottle should be kept well tilted to prevent the baby from swallowing excess air which could cause severe colic pains.

2. Burns: Sometimes, especially if the microwave is used, the body of the bottle does not heat up, but the contents may be close to boiling. The temperature of the milk or formula should be checked before giving it to the baby, to avoid causing burns.

3. Emotional problems: The baby should never be deprived of the positive emotional aspects of breastfeeding. For this reason, it is important that while the bottle is being given, the affectionate relationship between the parents and the newborn should be strengthened with words, kisses or caresses.

4. Detachment of materials: The high temperatures to which the bottle is subjected could cause detachment of materials, which could obstruct the respiratory tract or the migration of toxic products. The choice of quality products guarantees safety in this respect.

5. Choking due to excessive food flow.

Pharmaceutical advice

Always use this product under adult supervision.

Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids can cause tooth decay.

Inspect the teat carefully before each use and pull it in all directions.

Discard at the first sign of deterioration or brittleness.

Keep all components out of reach of children when not in use.

Do not leave the teat in direct contact with sunlight or other heat sources and do not leave it immersed in sterilising solution for longer than recommended. This can damage the teat.

Never use the teats as a soother.

Always check the temperature of the food before feeding.
