Mepilex Border Flex is an all-in-one dressing with Flex Technology, which offers improved fixation and comfort. It is effective in the treatment and retention of bacterial exudates in a variety of wounds.
"Mepilex® Border Flex, with patented Flex Technology, is a complete dressing that offers improved support and comfort. It more effectively treats and retains bacterial exudates compared to other foam dressings1. It is ideal for a wide variety of chronic and acute wounds with exudate2, such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, skin tears and traumatic wounds. Patented Flex Technology allows 360° stretch through Y-shaped cuts in the retention and diffusion layers, conforming to the body even in difficult-to-dress areas, and stays in place longer than other dressings3 4 5. It contains 40% more superabsorbent fibres than Mepilex® Border, allowing the retention layer to handle both normal and viscous exudates, keeping fluid trapped and allowing for continuous dressing function1. Fluid handling tests show that Mepilex Border Flex outperforms other complete dressings by 125%6. The highly breathable safety film features the new Exudate Progress Controller, a pattern of dots that makes it easy to track and record fluid as it spreads, without affecting the wound7. These dots can be recorded and shared during dressing changes or nursing visits, avoiding unnecessary dressing changes.
