What is Mepiform silicone scar reducer and what is it for?

It uses Safetac technology and helps to reduce scars. It flattens, softens and blurs red and raised hypertrophic and keloid scars. They are easy to use and can be applied to any area of the body. They are waterproof, so they can continue to be used during bathing or showering. They can be custom cut to fit the size and shape of the scar. They help to achieve a thin, discreet scar thanks to their flexible dressing system with a soft silicone layer. They have a soft but secure adhesion that does not damage the skin or cause pain when removed.

They help to reduce the discomfort caused by scars such as itching, pain, restriction of movement or unsightly appearance. They improve the appearance of the scar and make it less visible. The most obvious results are obtained after 2 to 4 months of treatment.

Who is Mepiform Silicone Scar Reducer indicated for?

According to international recommendations, silicone gel dressings are the first choice in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars (which are the most common types of scars). It can also be used as a prophylactic therapy for closed wounds. Scar treatment should be initiated once the wound is completely healed.

Instructions for use

Open the packaging and remove the dressing. If necessary, cut to create the appropriate size overlap of minimum 1 cm. When applying Mepiform, ensure that the area is completely dry. When used in conjunction with any ointment or cream, you should ensure that the dressing covers a larger area than the cream does. Remove the release film and apply Mepiform to the scar or wound. Avoid stretching when applying to the joint area. It is recommended to wear it optimally for 24 hours a day. Remove the dressing once a day to check the affected area and wash the skin. The dressing can be reapplied. Under normal conditions it should be changed every 3 to 7 days or when the adherent properties of the dressing no longer meet the needs.
