What is it and what is it for?

The Medilast hot or cold ice pack with zip is a reusable therapeutic product that works on the basis of a gel capable of retaining and freely changing its temperature without changing its physical state. It can be cooled to give intense cold sensations, ideal for reducing inflammation or it can be heated to help in the rehabilitation of muscle, tendon and ligament injuries.

Who is it suitable for?

It is suitable for people of all ages, including both children and older adults. It is primarily recommended for people who need heat or cold therapy for muscle aches, injuries and other similar conditions.

Instructions for use

To use this bag correctly, it is advisable to use thermotherapies, either hot or cold. Here are the necessary steps to enjoy each of them:

  • To use it cold, it is advisable to introduce the bag in the fridge, refrigerator or freezer for at least 4 hours. It is removed from there after the stipulated time and placed directly on the affected area or part of the body where cryotherapy is required. In case the temperature of the bag is too cold to touch sensitive skin, a padded cloth can be placed as a reinforcement and thus enjoy a more moderate cold.
  • For heat thermotherapy, the pouch should be placed in the microwave. The length of time the bag should be left in the microwave will be indicated on the product box and will depend on how much heat is needed. Once hot, the bag is removed from the microwave and placed over the affected or treated area of the body. Also, in cases where the bag is too hot to touch, a garment or cloth can be used as a means of contact to avoid burns or irritation on extra sensitive skin.

In addition, this product has Velcro straps, making it easy to attach the pouch to almost any part of the body and allowing it to be used without having to hold it all the time.

Contraindications

Never cut or puncture the pouch. Avoid placing directly on skin with open wounds or skin that is too sensitive. When using the fasteners, do not tighten them too tightly so as not to cut off circulation. Discard if the gel is exposed to the outside world.
