Ectodol ophthalmic solution is an isotonic solution that helps to reduce inflammation and contributes to the regeneration of the conjunctiva thanks to its 2% Ectoin® concentration. It is available in a format of 30 single-dose 0.5 ml.
Ectodol ophthalmic solution is an eye drop that helps to treat symptoms such as irritation, involuntary dribbling and itching of the eyes. It contains 2% Ectoin®, a natural molecule that protects eye cells and helps to relieve these symptoms caused by conjunctivitis, trauma or post-operative conditions. Ectodol ophthalmic solution helps to prevent sensitivity and inflammation of the ocular surface called conjunctiva and, in the case of already suffering from any uncomfortable symptoms, helps its subsequent regeneration. This solution is ideal to be used as an adjuvant in the recovery treatment after surgery or any traumatic incident in the eyes, as it contributes to the relief of pain and considerably reduces swelling, if there is any. In this way, it notably favours the restoration of the visual field. This product is compatible for use with contact lenses. It is well tolerated. If other products or treatments are used on the eyes, they should be applied at least 15 minutes after using Ectodol.
Ectodol ophthalmic solution is indicated to help treat the symptoms caused by conjunctivitis, such as watery, itchy or inflamed eyes. It can also be used in case of trauma or to aid recovery after eye surgery in adults and children.
Farmaciasdirect recommends using the product several times a day, applying 1 or 2 drops in each eye, mainly following the instructions of a specialist. If administered to children, adult supervision is recommended for correct application. The way to open the container and apply the product is as follows: first, detach one container from the strip and open it by turning the tab. After this, it is advisable to tilt the head back and with the index finger pull the lower eyelid downwards while looking at the ceiling. Then gently press the container with the other hand, allowing one or two drops to fall into the conjunctival sac of the eye. Finally, it is recommended to close the eye slowly to disperse the solution.
The tip of the single dose should not come into contact with the eye. No adverse effects related to the use of Ectodol have been reported. If any unfavourable reaction is observed, a specialist should be consulted.
