What is it and what is it for?

Acofar's hydrophilic gauze bandage is a healthcare product designed for bandaging almost all types of wounds and parts of the body that can be bandaged. It has a structure based on selvedge cotton threads so that there is no risk of fraying. The fabric is hydrophilic, cushioned and not too flexible to ensure a tight, fixed bandage when needed.

The design of the bandage is mesh-like, so it allows regular perspiration of the skin without causing excessive sweating and irritating the area.

Who is it suitable for?

It is mainly indicated to help bandage wounds or injuries in a comfortable and effective way, with a pure cotton fabric. Suitable for use on adults and children.

Instructions for use

Before using this product, it is advisable to wash and disinfect the area where it is to be applied, especially if it has a recent open wound. The following are the steps to follow for a correct bandage:

  • Once the area is properly cleaned and the hands of the person applying the bandage are clean, take the bandage and measure the amount that should be used to cover the entire surrounding area.
  • Then cut it to size and make sure that there is always a little bit of bandage left over, in case of any eventuality or failure to measure.
  • Align the region of the body to be bandaged for a comfortable and pleasant positioning, both for the person putting on the bandage and for the person receiving it.
    • In the case of regions with bony prominences, it is also advisable to place a pad.
  • The bandage should preferably be applied in a movement from distal to proximal. Make sure to exert the same pressure throughout the procedure.
  • Finally, ask the person who received the bandage if they feel comfortable or have any discomfort. If so, it is preferable to remove and retry the dressing.
