What is it and what is it for?

Acofar's Hydrophilic Cotton Sterile Gauze is made with 20 threads of this material to provide excellent coverage and protection for wounds. This is because it should prevent the passage of dust or contaminants that can cause infection in the affected area.

The gauze also helps to retain CO₂ in order to promote the healing process by maximising the use of oxygen. This is why wounds covered with gauze heal within a few days. If the wound is oozing, it is necessary to change the gauze when it is about 75 % soaked in order to maintain asepsis.

This coating also prevents injury to the wound, as well as ensuring the ideal temperature for tissue regeneration.

When bleeding occurs, applying pressure to the affected area with the help of gauze can help to stop the bleeding. This is because the pressure promotes blood circulation to the organ, but the gauze is a support to maintain asepsis, as it is sterile. This means that it can be used safely anywhere.

It is also used to clean wounds, cuts and grazes, as it is very soft and does not shed fibres. This is why they should not be missing when going for a walk or taking the children on a picnic.

In addition, they are skin-friendly, completely hypoallergenic and sterile, ready to use.

Who is it suitable for?

Farmaciasdirect recommends keeping these gauze pads in the first aid kit, as they are necessary for cleaning wounds and covering them, as well as for immobilising an injured area.

Instructions for use

It is advisable to wash the wound and place the gauze without pressing in the centre of the wound. Then adhere it to the skin by applying hypoallergenic adhesive tape to the ends.

Change the gauze when 75% of the wound is already covered with fluid.

They can also be used to wash and clean wounds. In this case, moisten the gauze with a saline or soap solution or other antiseptic solution and dab gently. This will allow you to clean the wound properly.

Contraindications

These gauze pads are not suitable for surgical or ophthalmic purposes.

Composition

8-ply gauze pads with a density of 20 hydrophilic cotton threads.
