3M Steri-strip sterile skin suture 102 x 6 mm is a medical device developed to facilitate the closure of superficial skin wounds such as cuts. The strips are made of a porous non-woven material that creates a safe environment when in contact with the wound, preventing the intrusion of foreign bodies.

The adhesive is made of acrylate, a hypoallergenic element that will not create any adverse effects when in contact with healthy skin or the wound. In addition, it is latex-free.

Its main function is not to cover the wound and protect it from external factors, but to apply some pressure so that the cuts close more quickly and effectively. They are usually used in conjunction with knitted stitches or staples to help spread the pressure and prevent them from coming loose and opening the wound.

It is indicated for all types of people who have an open wound and want to speed up its closure and recovery. It is very well tolerated as it does not contain drugs or additives, so it is recommended for both adults and children.

The steps to use this product correctly are as follows:

• Clean the area with the wound very well, disaffecting it correctly and making sure that it is no longer bleeding or that there is no foreign body inside it.
• Remove from the package the strips that will be needed to cover the wound.
• Remove the adhesive backing from one of the strips.
• Align it in front of the wound and place it on top, perpendicular to the wound.
• Place the other strips, if necessary, in the same way as the other strip, but leaving a considerable space between each one.

The strips are made to assist in the closure of wounds or cuts, so they should be placed in such a way that they exert some pressure to facilitate closure.

Do not place on still bleeding wounds. Do not consume, topical use only. Keep away from any source of ignition, as the tissue can easily catch fire. Keep away from small children.
