3M Nexcare Blood-Stop Coagulant Dressing is a protective strip used to promote bleeding control and protect minor or light skin wounds. The base of this coagulant strip contains a natural and well-tolerated active substance that provides a haemostatic effect that helps to accelerate healing, stop bleeding and prevent the risk of rebleeding in the injured area of the epidermis.
This active substance consists of calcium/sodium salt of microdispersed oxidised cellulose and a haemostatic agent that contributes to the wound clotting process. Thanks to this composition, the secretions excreted by the lesion come into contact with the microdispersed oxidised cellulose and activate the particles of this substance, allowing the creation of a kind of gel-like layer that acts as an artificial coagulant.
In addition, this dressing consists of a non-woven gauze base with an adaptable adhesive backing that protects the injured skin while keeping it protected from external contamination. In addition, the material properties of this protective bandage allow the skin to breathe and perspire. In this way, they help to prevent maceration of the dermis. Also, these materials have a technology that protects the skin against UVA and UVB rays and offer good water resistance, so the strip stays in position even when bathing.
